Anything wrong with Pinnacle system?

Hi all.

I am awaiting my new carbon black car (very, very dark metallic blue) and have been reading the archives. I am wondering if there is anything wrong with using the Pinnacle kit which contains their shampoo, paint cleaner, and wax.

I have read about AIO with SG followed by P21S. Will there be a noticable improvement in longevity with the Klasse compared with the Pinnacle.

I probably will only wax every six months. I live in Florida and i guess my concern is whether the sun will destroy the finish within 6 months if some type of sealent (ie Klasse) is not applied.

Thanks in advance

Nothing in the Pinnacle line is going to last you for 6 months. Maybe 6 weeks but not months. Klasse is a great system because it actually could protect that long if you put 3 or 4 layers on first.

I highly doubt that your vehicle will be destroyed in 6 months without a sealant. I've detailed 3 year old cars that were merely waxed once in awhile and they were still pretty good. A good sealant will protect your from oxidation of course. It will also protect from UV rays that could fade the paint. It is certianly recommended to use a sealant because it lasts and protects much longer than a wax.

Even with a sealant you will probably want to wax more often than twice a year. Like I said, the wax is only going to last 6 weeks so you might want to wax every 2 months if you can swing it. In Florida the wax may last even less time than that.

You are right. I have a Black Jag at my house down in FL and I use a sealant and top with Souveran every month or so. The sun is so hot down there that it literally melts and evaporates the wax from the car. I use Klasse AIO and SG with 3 layers of SG under the souveran. The finish always comes out Concours!!! :)

I assume your getting a BMW, right? I have a carbon black car too. Pinnacle looks great on it, but it doesn't last long. In Florida it will evaporate even faster. Try an SG first and then a Pinnacle topper. You'll love the results.
