Anything new in black pearl paint protection? New Ford Edge Sport as daily queen>>

Haven't been on the boards in a while, and out of the detailing scene, so at this point playing catch up on what is out there that people are adopting in their regimen.

Have a new Ford Edge Sport with black pearl paint. Paint needs a full work over, so will do the usual clay, light cutting, and use the old trusty 3M swirl mark remover (unless there are better products with less filler now?).

As an interim I've been applying ClearKote Moose Wax, but this paint doesn't seem to hold it as well as my dark blue VW Jetta. I have Collinite 845 Insulator Wax, but not sure how this will work on black paint.

Driving conditions are harsh, as I live in NJ. The car is a daily driver on the highways. Need a wax that provides maximum protection, durability to NJ weather and driving conditions, and provides that deep wet look to make that pearl pop from the paint.

Recommendations??

OK, let's get real here.

First the "color" you have is "under the clearcoat" of the paint system, right?

So, I would gather from your post you are looking for a product that you may apply over the clearcoat to make the "base coat/clear coat" have a look that you are seeking?

If you ever buff/polish enough to get down to the "color" (base coat), to attempt to do anything with it, have, oh- about $5000 or more to get it back.

You might want to consider Opti Coat since this is a DD and as you say the conditions are harsh---Store - Opti Coat 2.0

I saw this while doing some research. Will have to look more into it. This is only a 2yr lease, but this could definately be a good application for the front end of the car and my other one the gf drives. My assumption though is this needs to be applied in a dust free environment, which I don't have...

I say the lastest products to get high customer rating would be the HD Line... 3D International, LLC They have very good polishes UNO and Speed, and sealants Nitro and Poxy. Poxy is the best sealant I have used. Take a look.
