Anyone use spray wax on wheels?

I've seen several brands of spray wax in the stores these days and thought this might be a good solution for use on wheels, especially ones with lots of nooks and crannys that make it difficult to wax with a paste or liquid.



Has anyone used any of these and had good success with it?



If not, what type of wax do you use on your wheels how do most of you apply/remove wax to/from your wheels?
 
Waxing wheels with something like that would not really make much difference. A spray wax will not withstand the heat and contamination that your wheels are subject to. Use either Wheel Wax or a sealant on your rims. I've used either Klasse or Platinum on my wheels since I got them and I touch them up with Platinum's QD after I wash the car. Waxing with a spray wax or a wax in a jar would probably wear off in a week and not provide much protection.
 
I use Wheel Wax topped with Collinite Insulator Wax (no cleaners in it). Combined, both provide a nice shield on my wheels that easily withstands the heat. In between washings with car wash soap only, I use a little QD to spruce them up.



JNGR is right about the the spray stuff not holding up.



If you spray ANYTHING on your wheels besides wheel cleaner, be sure to spray it on the rag first and not your wheels. You don't want to get the stuff on your brakes.



By the way, Collinite Insulator Wax (for the umpteenth time) is a serious sleeper wax and does wonders for LONG lasting shine and durability. I love it on my wheels. My new bottle came yesterday!
 
I have been using 1Z spruh wax on my wheels. It comes in a aerosol can, and applys with such ease, removal is a breeze too.

It doesent seem to shield quite as well as some sealents i have used but it definetly helps some. But the best part, is application is a breeze.
 
Thanks for the info. Spilchy, do you have a source that sells both the Wheel Wax and Collinite? Sounds like something I want to try on my wheels. I've found plenty of places that sell the Collinite but not the Wheel Wax.
 
Sorry for the poor wording. I was looking for a place that carried both products (I hate paying double shipping, especially when ordering only on product) :)
 
ohoh, thats gonna be tough! collinite is pretty elusive! I get my collinite from thebestwax.com, but i know they dont carry WW!

Like BoxsterCharlie said, autofanatics.com carries Collinite. I've been buying it from them for a while. I've recommended them on the forum a few times before. Thay had a nice sale and picked up some Blitz too.



Unfortunately they do not have Wheel Wax. You can try Klasse AIO if you have. If not, use the Collinite by itself if you buy it. Or, place an order at CMA for a few items and pick up the Wheel Wax. Then place an order at autofanatics.com for the Collinite and a few other items! Worst case scenario, you'll pay like $10 more for shipping since the two products aren't sold at the same place.
 
I have a 98 M3 with the factory forged rims. Wheel wax works great. You might find Collinite at a boat supply store, since its popular with the marine crowd. EO wax as you dry works good. Just spray on a clean, wet rim and wipe off.
