Anyone use COARSE green pads?

These are the ones with cut between white and orange. They are called "heavy polishing", while the more popular green pads are polishing/finishing and are close to black foam material.

I'm just wondering what are your impressions of the coarse green foam. It doesn't seem very popular.

Ha, I agree with you on this! I have a handful of Green LC CCS' sitting around, and I've been too leery to give them a try on my own, or a customer's vehicle. (I also don't have any test panels). The green pad's pores are huge, and the pad itself is quite stiff. Seems quite aggressive, but I'll have to try it to find out.

In for more personal experienced opinions.

I love these pads. To the touch IMO it feels more coarse than the orange pad.

Can you compare how the correction and finish compare to orange or white pads? AG puts them between these, but not much description is provided.

How does the stiffness compare with orange pads? Thanks.

From a pure physical aspect, the green is a very open celled foam that compresses a lot compared to an orange pad. When I have used it, it develops a compressed set state (polish getting into the pores) after a while. Once clean, it returns to normal.

I love these pads. I have like 10 of them, but I use them just for AIO type products, like Poli-Seal, since it gives me a little bit of everything I need from it.

I wonder how similar these are to my 4" Cyclo green pads  Or to the Edge green foam...

I use those Cyclo pads all the time; did a quick one-step polishing of the A8's front bumper cover with one yesterday using #80.

Based on my experience with both, they are very, and I mean very similar. They pretty much do the same task with OPS. Now, the cell structure is a more open pore on the LC, where as Edge looks more like the LC orange.

My 0.02 cents

There are two types of green pads: Coarse and Normal.

FWIW, I was told by a reputable detailer and store-owner that the "coarse green pads" are in fact an inferior batch of "regular green pads", being labelled as coarse for sale by a major distributor.

Nah, they've been out for years and they're sold by several stores. I doubt that information is correct.

Good to know!

I've been skeptical of some information I've received from others, regardless of their popularity.

That is the same thing i use them for but other then poli-seal i dont use them for anything else.

Just tried the course green with Power Finish (rotary) and it removes somewhat

heavy oxidation quite easily. I'd normally use wool with M105 but this did the job.

What kind of finish did that leave?

I used one with M205 and was in love with it!! I will be getting more!

Good to know. What did you love about the coarse green pads and what would make you choose them over an orange pad for example?

Is the green a different foam material than the orange?

Back to another thread-SM Arnold pads. The difference besides pore size was the foam. SM pads to me felt like foam-foam. Where as LC feels like a memory foam.

That sounds really promising. How's the finish? Any holograms or hazes with this combo?

I've been wanting to try Power Finish with the white polishing pad on the rotary. This way I hope I could go straight to jewelling with PO85RD.
