Anyone go shopping this morning???

it was my first time...
Just curious to see how many Autopians went out and battled the line for some serious savings? I know I did, this morning was my second time going out, and wow it is such an event. If you've never done it before you really should try it once, its so funny to see people going crazy for stuff. Today I went to Staples with 3 things in mind, and was surprised to "hit my trifecta". We got there around 5:45 and we're waiting in a decent sized line, at least 25-30 people ahead of us. I somehow ended up successfully getting; 1 512MB SD card, 2 512MB Flash Drives and 1 50pk DVD-R spindle. After savings and when I get back my rebates I probably paid total around a little under $40 for all that stuff which is amazing. :woot:

It was also a good day because I went with my two cousins and friend. My one cousin managed to get a cheap snowboard package at the Sport's Authority in the same strip mall, while my other cousin got an awesome photo printer for $100, and my friend managed to snag(with the help of our friend manager) a 200GB hard drive for like $30. I'm so happy we all went, and we're able to get stuff. I know my one cousin and friend didn't want to go, but we all ended up staying all night playing video games and BSing. Overall, a pretty good day of shopping in my book. :xyxthumbs

Hope everyone else who went in the crowds we're able to get what they we're looking for. ;)

My wife got the SD cards.

She wanted to get a 1 gig compact flash card but they were out. She also went looking for a laptop for $400. They were gone.

Go figure. She came back unhappy. It is not like she doesn't have computers. She has seven of her own. Not counting everyone else in the house has at least one.

Not much I can do. So I just listen, smile and say... "Yes Dear."

Kirk,

Computers are her "detailing products" ;)

I took my son to compUSA @ 10:30 last night & we went from there. We just got home @ 2:00 this afternoon!! My dogs are barking up a storm, but he is thrilled with all the "stuff" he was able to get!!

Norah

PS - now tonight we'll but cutting out all those UPC's & filling out rebate forms!!! :( but then in a few months, I'll start getting money back in time for buying the "new, improved" spring detailing products - see how it works :)

Thanks Norah!

Just am having a hard time understanding how you get depressed over something like a shopping sale.

I promise I am being a good husband. I am trying ... Just hard to understand. :hairpull

She knows that there is hardly anything in that store that she cannot buy. No matter what it is. If she wants it I tell her to get it.

If I didn't get anything, and woke up early for nothing I would definately be angered. :(

Norah: You should have hit up Staples. They have their Easy Rebates which are really great. You spend at most 5 minutes online; no cutting UPCs or mailing.

I already sent in all my rebates. Staples is usually pretty good with sending out checks fast. I think it usually takes around a month and a half when I've submitted them in the past. I'm guessing it will take a little longer now though, with so many people submitting them.

Well I went to Bestbuy today and wanted one thing the 1GIG USB drive well the flyiers said they only had 75 perstore but the store i went to had a ton of them. and I was there at 10 am. Anyways 1 Gig $42 with 20 mail in rebate.. CHA CHING :getdown

I did the Best Buy thing too, got an MP3 player for $39.99 and a couple other smaller items, one with a rebate which left with the mail this afternoon. I agree everyone should try this at least one time, it can be pretty fun to see the "holiday spirit" in action.

I got there about 3:15am and I was about 160 people back.
