Anyone else use AIO on their winshield?

I did it the other night with an orange PC pad on my mothers 2001 Tahoe and it worked great! I am going to do it on the maxima tonite. Just curious if anyone else has done this?

I have done AIO on my windshield. Once the AIO begins to where you will get streaking.

If you want to clean your windshield try a glass polish, smr, metal polish or 000 or 0000 steel wool w/ window cleaner.

I'm not buying this. Prolly like rain-X, great at first then your wipers start deteriorating and chattering and leaving build-up. Ditto for Griot's window cleaner.

Just keep your windshield and the wipers clean. Man, Rain-X must be laughing all the way to the bank.

I AIO'd all the windows about 3 months back. Used a MF pad pretty well-dampened with QD. And now I QD the windows (sonus or eows) whenever I do the rest of the vehicle. Crystal clear glass, very nice in light drizzle, no chattering (with new Boch 22" wipers, at least).

This weekend, I am going up on the roof and AIO my skylights.

I use AIO on all my windows - blows away anything else. Incredible results especially if you use 0000 steel wool first with glass cleaner or vinegar. However, on the windshield, it doesn't streak, rather, the wiper blades drag. It wipes crystal clear, but drags along the window.

I'm very happy with the Aquapel I got from a group buy here. After 3 months on all three of my cars, it still beads like fresh Rain-X!

The stuff is harder to find than Osama bin Laden, but worth the effort IMHO.

I thought read on the bottle of AIO (or maybe SG) that it specifically was not recommended for use on windshields. It suggested using it everywhere else on the car though. I'm at work so I can't verify, but I'm pretty sure because I thought about doing it too.

I think the Klasse documentation says "... not approved for windshields," whatever that really means. They are probably just covering their butts, liability-wise.

IMHO, if you QD the windshield when you do the rest of the car, you won't have problems with the wipers. But two posts back, I was a lowly Apprentice, so I could be wrong ... ;->

If you're using alcohol based windshield washer fluid it's going to remove any sealant you put there and start streaking. I don't know of any fluid that is not alcohol based :nixweiss .
