Anyone else run into these "Hard clear coat" stickers??

GOT PREP?
I thought this was cool, it's the first time I have seen them. I also didn't know that Nissan was using this paint system as early as 00. I do appreciate the heads up though. :D

First time was on this baby(01 Q45) a few weeks ago:

And then again this weekend on a 00 Maxima:

Now the infinity paint was a *real* PITA to correct while the Nissan seemed to be routine. :nixweiss

Anyone else seen these?

I find that very difficult to believe on the Maxima. Go over to Maxima.org and ask about how soft on the Maxi the clear is.

Pretty cool though on that Infinity.

I would have assumed they were the same system had I not polished both of them. Who know's?? I did think it was interesting though.

Interesting, I've never seen that before. I will say that the paint job on my 2004 Infiniti G35 Coupe was laughable. Sneeze on it and it's gonna chip. Didn't help that it was black.

Our '96 Maxima has that sticker on the inside of the engine bay, drivers side.

Could have fooled me, based on the acid rain etching and the bird bomb etchings (those all removed except for one) that ate into the clearcoat.

I bet they started using them when clearcoat first came out, so those who'd see it would know not to use products/techniques not good for clears.

+ INFINTI!!!!!!!!!! OMG so sorry I didn't get a clear bra!!! My front bumper looks like a 13 year olds face!!! HORRIBLE!!!

Maybe Nissan got too many complaints and that's hwy they went to this ultra soft garbage! Can't wait until they actually come out with that paint that heals itself! Should be interesting but only works on scratches that do not go through to the primer.
