Anybody tried BDR?

BC, I've never seen that flavor, but certainly have used the Armor All version, the Michelin version and the Eagle 1 version. I'd have to give the nod to the AA version, $7/can at W*mart.

On the page you linked there is a review from "Richard Wright". I am pretty sure he is a member here under the name rwright. you may want to give him a PM for 1st hand experience

Same here, haven't tried BDR but the AA product works so well, its hard to imagine a spray on product being better. That said I ended my chapter with brake dust on wheels by going to cermaic pads on all my cars. While a repellant is great for up to a couple of weeks, it eventually fades and you still have a messy wheel. If you are ok with washing and re-applying, it is a good way to go, especially if you have very dusty pads and don't want to sacrifice any braking performance.

Could find him under search feature. I have used AA, so I agree its hard to beat.

I used it on my Audi, and it's fine, looks a little plastic, but does work for a while. I don't know about, can, but it comes in a spray bottle in my area.

bcgreen- I haven't looked at it in ages, but I'm pretty sure mine's a metal can. The chance of overspray was one reason why I've never used it.

Looking a bit odd would be OK, I'd use it on trips where the wheels get awful by the time I'm back home.

I like the AA product, it definitely works well. However, the fine aerosol mist is a problem on windy days. I would use it more often if it was a pump spray and wipe application.

These products do tend to work pretty well but they are short lived and some of the 'how it works' information on the BDR website makes me tempted to offer my services to help out with the science!

Picked up some Meguiar's, looked like the AA, but more pricey, but then again the container was larger. Time will tell if it is more durable.

Wonder if they're just dumbing it down for mass consumption or whether it's deliberate obfuscation  I always assume (yeah... :o ) that they actually *know* what the real story is, whether they disseminate it or not.

Someone posted that O'Reilly's auto parts was selling (close out) the AA product for $1.87/can :)

I don't think the Meg's product repels brake dust like AA's product, it merely prevents brake dust from bonding to the surface so future removal is easier.

IME, AA works as advertised. I tried E1's similar product when it first came out, but it did not work nearly as well as AA, IME. They may have improved the formula since then, but I don't know.

My experience is that Mequiar's seems to bond more to the paint, but doesn't necessary repel dust. I am getting the feeling the M will last longer.
