Any road cyclists here?

:wavey

Got my road bike in mid March 2007 (used to ride a lot when I was a teenager and into my early 20s) and am two rides away from having put 7000 miles on it. :)

Usually get in anywhere from 2-5 rides a week depending on work load and weather. My base ride is 32 miles, my short ride is 26 and I've done a few 40+ mile rides. Just never seem to get a whole day off when the weather is good to grind out a century.

I've got an older Cannondale R400 Racing. All aluminum, huge bottom bracket so it accelerates like a rocket. Not as smooth as a carbon bike though. Mavic Open Pro wheels, Speedplay pedals, Specialized Phenom 143 seat, Bontrager Race X-Lite tires.

Only thing different now is the handlebar tape is blue.

Nice!

I got a crazy good deal on craigslist yesterday on an 05 Specialized Allez Elite. I did 11 miles on that today. This exercise stuff is like crack!

If you don't have bike shorts, get them. Seriously.

And yes, it is definitely addictive. Competitive too; I have a hard time doing recovery rides because as soon as I get passed by someone I know I am faster than, I have to chase them down and drop them. :lol

I am going to try and put in a minimum of 100 miles per week, more if there is time. I ordered two pair of bike shorts, but I think I need a smaller size so I will be mailing them out Monday.

Try to ride over 100 miles a week.

A few of the current rides (built both up from parts):

Hit 2500 miles for the year this evening. Kind of sucked because the bugs are so bad at dusk. So bad it is like riding in the rain except it is bugs, it was pretty disgusting.
