any place to pick up backing plates locally?

Well I melted a backing plate last weekend. Ordered a new one and a few new pads, but UPS shipping says they wont be here until monday, and I need a new backing plate in order to do the jobs I have scheduled for this weekend. Any parts stores or anything I might be able to find a backing plate at locally?
 
Where are you at? If any store (O'Reillys, Carquest, Napa, etc) carries even a couple of bottles of Meg's professional products, they can order it. O'Reillys around here always carries a few bottles, and the guy there told me if I could give him a part number, they could get it, 90% of the time overnight. I ordered two 6" backing plates (PC and rotary) and polishing pads from there and they were actually cheaper than at the local distributor. The only thing they couldn't get was a cutting pad.



Advance Auto or Autozone is a different story, I've never had any luck with them.
 
If there are paint and body shop supply stores in your area, that's always a good place to find pads, backing plates, and polishes (usually 3M or Meg's pro line). There are several such shops here in Omaha, so I'd imagine if you're near a city of decent size, you should be able to find something as well.
