Any glass experts?

When i purchased my car i noticed what looks like water spotting on my windows, if you were to spray water on your windows and let it dry in the sun. I have tried everything to remeove these spots, and nothing I have found takes them out so far. I have no idea what they are or how they got there. They are on every window the only exception is within the range of the wipers. It is on the outside of the glass. The only thing i can figure is that i noticed there was an "ocean county" dealership sticker on the back of the car. perhaps it was subjected to some sort of salt water erosion. however to my eye the finish is immaculate. and why wouldent the spots be where the wipers wipe

Any ideas or suggestions?

Thanks

To answer that last question-- Is it possible that because the wipers tend to leave their own pattern on the glass, that a certain amount of residue from the rubber remains on the glass, preventing spotting?

To fix glass etching, though, you'll have to bring out the cutting pad and abrasive polish, I believe.

Before that, you could try using some Barkeeper's Friend (any non-scratching powdered cleaner) and a wet sponge to make a paste on the glass, and give it a good scrubbing, but this may only go so far. Etching can go pretty deep to the point where it may be easier to have a professional look at it or replace it entirely.
