This is just my $0.02, but after I noticed orange peel on my car ('95 BMW) I started looking more closely at other cars, especially brand new cars, i.e. in the showroom kind of cars. What I noticed was that nearly every car, with very few exceptions, has some orange peel effect. A brand new Nissan Murano in the showroom had orange peel...and swirl marks to boot!

I see lots of BMWs at BMW car club events, almost all of them have the orange peel effect. So, bottom line, unless you are willing to wet sand (and even that might not be enough) then I would live with the orange peel and just get the best shine you can get. It looks like you have already mastered that. :D

Does wet sanding remove orange peel. The problem is beneath the clear coat and exist in the actual paint right?

That's funny, I noticed the same. I was at a BMW dealer last week and was looking at a brand new Z4 in the showroom and when looking close I could also see some orange peel.

Did you have the car repainted? Or is that just factory orange peel?

Yeah that is factory orange peel. That picture was in the sun and really made it stand out. I looked at the panel in the garage and you couldn't notice it.

Hankwoo,

Did you use a PC, Rotary or by hand to apply the products.

Great shine and reflection.

I did it all by hand, don't have the cash for a PC yet. I am new to the whole mutli-step process so I started on some of my family's cars first. That was my 4th car in a week doing the same procedure as I posted above. I wanted to make sure I knew what I was doing until I detailed my car; thus, saving the best for last :D

I'd have to say applying #83 was the only thing that was tricky because it you let it dry it almost glues to the paint and is extremly hard to remove. Then I got into the habit of letting the car sit after applying #7 because it is pretty oily. I think next time I am going to put on #9 before 7. Once I run outta meguiars I'm going to try out this process.

BTW it's a 2002 celica gts, yet the front bumper was filthy when I clayed it, made a couple trips back and forth from indiana.
