Another polisher.. I'm deciding by Friday.

I'm holding off on the Rupes 21 for now.
Owning the Flex 3401, Rupes 15 and mini..I really want to try a lightweight rotary for small areas. I figured small pads 1,2,3" and could do some metal polishing with it too.
With the 3403/ or 14 I could try large pads.

I really don't feel like spending $400 for the PE14.
So my choices are..
1) Flex PE8
2) Flex 3403
3) Flex PE14.... do I just wait a bit longer?

I can get the other two for $200.
Any ideas?

Adding a bottle of Speed as well.

Iv would look at the Makita or the Dewalt. Not as pricey and both are very good machines. I haven't looked in a while, but, you can get a good deal on the Autopia-CarCare store. When I am ready I am looking at the Makita

the GG6 and a Dewalt Rotary will do 99.9% of everything you will ever run in to, with the right backers, pads, and chemicals. why people buy these these fancy $300+ polishers has never made much sense to me. stop spending cash on these things, and spend more cash on things that will pay off 10 times more, like advertising. you wont get more clients by promoting your polisher, but you will by promoting your business and your skills.

Wouldn't the pe8 be a no brainer? Its made for use with small pads. Which seems to be exactly what you're looking for.

I definitely wouldn't put a makita in the "small" class at all. I have one and its pretty big.

Pe8 kit with pads is my first choice, I just didn't know if people feel it is as universal as a bigger one. At this time I don't expect to be doing anything but tight areas.

Pe14 hands down. The soft start and low speed are deal breakers for me. The pe8 isn't that much smaller than the 14, that along knocks it out. The 3403 is a waste as well since its almost the size of the 14 and a way higher starts speed an no variable trigger. Having a variable trigger is one of the most important features on any rotor.

BTW, I had the 3403 and have used the pe8. I really dislike the flick switch on the pe8, it reminds me of my metabo (which) I also sold. Forget size unless your getting a true 7 in her. Think ergonomics, speed control and starts speeds, those are key to mastering the rotor.

I've used a 3" pad on my makita and that's about as small as I'd be comfortable going with that size machine. Couldn't imagine trying to use a 1" or 2" pad on it.
