I'm trying to figure out the best process to make my blue Camaro look like a show car. Here's what I have so far:

Wash with Meguiar's NXT car wash

Clay with Meguiar's clay kit

Apply Klasse gloss sealant (at least one coat)

Finish cleaning with P21S Cleansing lotion

Wax with P21S carnauba wax

I am very new to this, so please feel free to offer advice on changing up this process. Thanks!

So far so good, except you would need to polish with P21S Cleansing lotion after claying, and then do Klasse AIO to prep before Klasse SG. After all of your coats of SG (24 hours between each coat) are on, then you can wax with P21S carnauba.

So it would be more like this:

Wash

Clay

Wash (my preference)

P21S Cleaner

Klasse AIO

Klasse SG

P21S carnauba

You may not even need the P21S Cleaner since you will have to use AIO before SG and AIO and P21S are pretty much the same thing.

Oh yeah, :welcome

I agree with JDookie, you probably won't need the P21S cleaner. Perhaps you *will* need something a little more abrasive- check your paint under different kinds of lighting after you clay. If it has marring (swirls, scratches, etc.) then use a mild abrasive (such as Meg's #80 or, preferably 3M PI-III MG, pn 05937) before you do the Klasse AIO.

I'd sure use the AIO though. It's a great cleaner and a perfect "base" for the Klasse SG.

See how it looks after two-three layers of the Klasse Sealant Glaze. You might not want to top it with carnauba after all.

Thank you both, I appreciate the helpful responses. The surface of my paint does have swirl marks that need to be removed. I look forward to getting them out after I get my wrecked baby back from the body shop. :)

Heh heh, I really *do* feel for you; last year at this time my beloved Audi S8 was in the shop following its "deer incident".

You'll have to give some thought as to what to use on the repainted panels while the paint is curing. My choices are usually either 3M IHG or Meg's #5. No AIO, no SG, no wax for at least a month (and I always wait at least three, even though the shop I use bakes the paint).

Your product choices will not do a very good job on swirls. You need a polish like mezerna IP or DACP and the finish with a lesser aggresive polish like FPII. Oh yeah, and a machine. You can try FPII by hand to see if it works, but if they are bad, you gonna need horse power. So clay-polish-then:

"Finish cleaning with P21S Cleansing lotion"

This goes before AIO-

I'd wait at least one day, and even better a week before topping this with nuba. Maybe every couple of days put another coat of SG, until say you have 4 or so. Then bust the nuba out next week. This is how I'd use this particular product, it will leave you with a very good finish.

Thanks Burlyq, I'll try those. At the risk of sounding stupid, what is FPII? I still don't have the lingo down yet lol.

I don't think I'm gonna be able to stand not waxing it for a month, I guess I'll just experiment with SG on the hood where it hasn't been repainted :)
