Another new paint sealant?!

Hey everyone!

I saw an ad for this stuff in the back of my Car & Driver.

"Developed from aerospace technology, Rejex is not just another wax or polish. It provides unbeatable protection against bird droppings, bug splats and road grime while providing an incomparable, lustrous shine."

"Road grime-even brake dust-rinses off with a stream of water or wipes off with a wet rag!"

The web site is www.corrosionx.com

Anyone ever try this stuff??:nixweiss

It's really not all that great. I've read that it's difficult to apply and take off, also fairly overpriced as you don't get much.

Please do a search next time. It's been covered a bit. ;)

yea if you read the "car and driver" article.....it says ~"6 oz is enough to do an entire vehicle"~......so you pay 20$ for the 16oz bottle and it would barely do 3 cars?.....Rejex is ripping people off IMO.....there's no way they can justify that price....even if it was as good as Klasse or Zaino....by comparison i can do at least 1-2 coats of Klasse with 1oz of product...

I don't see how anyone can use 6 ounces of anything on any sized car. I don't even use that much SMR when i'm doing swirl removal!

I assume it's a very thick product and is difficult to spread around. ;)

Actually, I've found that it's a darn good protective product. You might use 1 oz. for the whole car if you do it right; I don't know where they got that 6 oz. crap...

It needs to be applied to a well-prepared surface, but if you follow the directions, it will last a long time. Not thick and hard to spread; goes on easy and comes off easy.

YMMV.

Yeah, it is a bit pricey(same price as Wolfgang, though).

It sounds like it might make a decent wheel and door jamb product. Or it might even be useful in the engine bay?? I can't imagine that the "special high-release monomers" would clean any better than Zaino or any other good sealant out there.

Just curious, I guess;)

Thanks:wavey

Thats way over priced i think. i recently bought some stuff called amino uv that i found under black car wax on yahoo. it works really well and doesnt cost near that much. less expensive than WG too..

Am I the only one that thinks Rejex is a terrible name? I mean c'mon, who were the guys that came up with that? ;)

Here is an interesting quote from someone at the company that manufactures Rejex from a Porsche forum that I frequent.

I know it's not cool to get online and stump for one's own products, but I heard from a friend that RejeX has become a pretty hot topic on Rennlist, so I thought I'd drop in. Since my wife and I are both Porsche owners and enthusiasts, a) I thought you guys might appreciate having direct access to the factory, and b) I feel somewhat obligated to spread the word among the Porsche brotherhood.

I'm confident that RejeX will compare favorably to Meguiars, Klasse, Zymol and Zaino Bros (and anything else for that matter) from a pure beautification standpoint, and it will absolutely smoke all those products from a protection standpoint. But again, my purpose is not to trash anyone else's products, because there are a lot of good ones out there these days.

Rejects is a horrible crap name.

Reminds me of an old Saturday Night Live skit (back when it used to be funny!) where they were coming up with horrible names for a jelly, ie "with a name like painful rectal itch, it has to be good!"

:lol
