Another new german car in the stable!

Just finalized the deal on my wife's MBZ C230K. Silver in color. I tease my wife all the time, if it were me I would have gotten a 325ci for that price, but she liked the MBZ, so there it is.

Will probably Zaino fy this silver german car also (as my S4 is). Now, I haven't been to this forum that often recently, so is there any consensus on using SMR after the Z18 step on a new car. when using Klasse I found AIO to do most everything I needed.

Thanks for any info.

I wouldn't use the SMR unless I had to. It's pretty mild, but why not save the clearcoat as much as possible. Of course my new car was delivered all swirled up (couldn't see at first due to dealer's grease glaze) and I needed it, but hopefully you won't.

Hi Richard!

Sure, we preach that you don't want to use any abrasive more than you need but it's more important to remove all damage completely first, as you know.

AIO works mostly with solvents and doesn't do much for swirls unless they are in previous coats of wax.

SMR is primarily an abrasive but is very mild. It is however, a great one. Depending on the state of my finish, I wouldn't hesitate to use it as a prep to a base for my Zaino.:up
