Any reason for no polishing?

I just did the full detail 4 months ago and the paint was holding up pretty well with minimal swirls so we just decided to wait a couple more months for the full detail again.

Eric77- You're sure keeping that nice! Bet you have one satisfied customer there :xyxthumbs

BBS LM

I see it has (presumably adhesive) weights on the back side....I wonder how they'll clean said surfaces for the rebalance when it gets the next set of tires. I have a personal interest in how this would be handled on wheels where you can't clean the backs at every wash ;) Just doing the spokes would be enough of a job (been there, cursed that)....

Eric77- What're you using on/doing to clean those wheels?

THanks.

Believe it or not, I just used plain old car shampoo and an mf towel. I never use any wheel acids on customer's cars. It takes me a little longer, but I dont risk etching the clear and ruining a $5000 set of wheels. I think I spent about 15-20 minutes doing just the wheels.

Eric77- OK, thanks; that's what I do too. Sometimes I've used MF gloves and that seemed to help a little bit. I asked because I'm seriously considering some BBSs for my M3 and I still remember what a chore my last set was. And that inability to get to the backs bugs me...

GET THEM! I would love to pick up some bbs' for my 540 but just can't justify it knowing I will be selling/storing my car next year.

We'll see...I'm leaning that way ;) Not sure *which* BBSs but I've always appreciated their build quality when I've had them before. Still tempted by the SSR 6-spokes though (ease of cleaning).

What year's your 540?

The paint looks really wet! Seems as though the Lexol was still soaking in when you took the pics. ;)

I bet you really love detailing all those 3s and Ms. :)

yeah I think it might have been a little bit. The flash really made it A LOT more obvious though.

It's tough work, but someone has to do it

In my book, there is no better looking bbs wheel than the lm.

http://www.braid.es to look at more options.

its a 99 ..Which ssr's are the 6 spokes? I have always like the ssr gt3's. As for which bbs' lm's or rgr's ar emy favorite.

Ah, that's nice! Very clean design (and never mind the great detailing job :D ).

The 6-spoke SSRs are called "Competition" but I hear SSR's been bought out so I dunno...I'm kinda considering the BBS RGRs. I want to stay with 17" staggered front/rear and that sorta limits my options. Gotta decide though, I want to get the car back and I'm *not* driving it on the curbed, dirty 10-spokes it came with.

dekany- Cool wheels on that link. I'm trying to stick with stuff I can replace really fast if I need to though, around here rims get bent a lot on our crappy roads (remember that this thing *is* supposed to be my beater ;) ). BBS is about as exotic as I can go before I run into difficulties.

Sorry to thread-jack, folks :o
