Hey guys, im jimmy, also from acura-legend.com

I drive a first generation acura legend sedan. its geneva green, it has 167,000 miles, and its located in southern california. the paint is in OK condition. Im doing everything i can to keep it looking good as long as i can. theres some fading on the roof and on the top of the trunk.


Anyways, im looking to get alot of info out of this board. Product reviews, tips, tricks etc. As of right now i am using Meguires gold class liquid car wax, meguires quik detailer, simple green on the the interior followed by silicone spray, off-brand wheel cleaner, off-brand car wash...occasionally zymol when my friend comes over, and etc. here are some pics:

Those 3 were after the car was washed with zymol. the car was not waxed at the time.
 
Ouch. That looks like some serious clear coat failure on that third picture. That is actually pretty typical for cars that are 10+ years old and stored outside in the sun. If they aren't protected very well and often then that is the kind of thing that happens. The previous owner is probably to blame because what you are using should provide some good protection. In the So Cali. sun you will probably want to put that Gold Class on there at least once a month to keep the protection up. Wax isn't the most durable thing on the planet and will evaporate and disappear if you wait too long.

Welcome to DC and we hope you enjoy it here! Its nice to see so many Legends coming over to represent. I wish more Integras would make it over here...

Anyone that read the thread where I introduced myself on this forum already knows that. :)

After reading this forum for a while though I realize I'm pretty good with what I use, but there is sooooooo much more that I don't know yet.
