Another question for you guys. I'm working on a 12 yr old Chevy truck, white, that is in really in bad condition. Half way or so thru the project I switched to Meg 105 on LC H-T pad and theirCCS orange pad. I prime the pad and add 2-4 drops as needed working a small area. BTW, 105 is great; the condition of paint is big time bad. With the 105 I finished half of the side of the bed(short side bed) and the entire fiberglass shell. I've used nearly half the bottle and I was wondering if this seems about normal or would you think I'm using too much product?
Thanks

Congrats on doing a great job !
Which Lake Country Hydro-Shred Pad are you using ? Cyan I hope !

Are you seeing a lot of product on your pad after you finish correcting a section? Is there a thick layer of product to wipe off the finish after you finish a section?

If the answer is "no" to the above, you are doing just fine.
I like to wipe off the pad occasionally when correcting to remove a lot of the dead paint and stuff off of it, when I am not just ready to change that pad out for a new/clean one.

Sounds like you are doing great !

Perhaps for next time, on really bad paint, you might consider the L/C Purple Foam Wool Pad. This bad boy cuts fast, is not very messy, and leaves a nice finish even with Meguiars 105. I use that combination with a Rotary on Airplane paint all the time and it absolutely rocks.

I know, there is truly a zillion ways to do this, as you spend more time reading and working on your own personal technique, etc., you will find through experimentation and from reading, but more from your own personal work, what is the best for your needs.

bellevue must be boeings right?

Hey Dave -

Yeah, there are a few Boeing plants around here and they have their own airport/landing strips going on too. Renton and Everett are huge ones and there is another one in Eastgate too that is very large.
There might be more but I am not that familiar with all of their stuff.

A lot of my former neighbors work there and are all Avionics Engineers, etc..

I'm using 32 oz. size with cyan hydro-tech pad. I tried the ccs orange but the cyan seems to do a much better job cutting.
