a picture of the problem, or a more detailed description of the damage would go a long way towards getting help with this issue.
Step 1: Make sure they are actually raw, polished aluminum.
Other than that, I suggest you invest in a Mother's Power Ball and Power Metal Polish. Be prepared to spend a bit of time on them to restore the original shine.
Follow with either Mother's Billet Polish by hand, or even better....Adam's Metal Polish.
