I remember reading somewhere (maybe scottwax posted it?) that optimum claimed opti-seal will re-locate carnauba to be underneath the opti-seal (meaning you apply OS and the carnauba remains on top of it).

Where is this post? I said on autogeek that optimum made this claim, and I need to find the post so that they dont think I'm crazy.

Are you referring to the first post in this thread (by Ron Harris) Opti-Seal Q&A - Optimum Forum ?

This was posted in optimumforums:

"

Dose Opti-seal lock in my Carnauba?

No. The solvents will dissolves carnauba floating it to the top of the

Opti-Seal. This fact holds true with any solvent based WOWA sealant.

The carnauba is not removed just repositioned.

"

YES  that's it thank you very much I knew someone said that! :woohoo:

I must have been searching for an hour solid trying to find that.

You are welcome. I just happened to remember where I saw it before and located it pretty easily.

Well obviously the reason my search was unsuccessful is I was only looking on autopia, not the optimum forums, is that what you dont get?

I believe they're questioning the ability of OS to displace the carnauba and raise it to the surface. That would be a neat trick. I'm not saying it's not true but it sure does sound iffy. Sometimes I wish we had a BS flag smiley but then that would probably lead to no good. :chuckle:

I have no idea exactly what happens but it sure looks good.

Opti-Seal over well cured Carnauba Moose:

I have a hard time envisioning a process in which the carnauba would uniformly float to the top of the OS and flow out, leaving a layer of OS underneath, particularly since the layer of any LSP is perhaps only molecules thick. I certainly can see how the solvents(?) in OS might dissolve the carnauba forming a new, semi-homogoneous LSP soup on the surface.

In all seriousness, who give a rats a**? Is that SC any better looking because it had a Nuba on it? I say nay.....Scott, those are amazing pics my friend.....
