well guys its almost spring and in a few months ill have enough money to get my rear fender repainted. a few days ago i actually washed my car with that eagle one car wash stuff and then for the first time ive personally ever waxed a car i waxed my car with mothers caranuba cleaner wax. i washed the tires and rims with that a2z stuff and then put that mothers hot dressing on the tires. it looks really great but i guess this was a real learning experience for me. i love the way the car looks now but i still see those horrible paint swirls in the sun. the car had the worst paint swirls and were very visible ( its an 04 crown vic sport in dark red). i dont have a pc or any thing i dont think ill be getting one until i get more experience with cleaners, polishes, and waxes applied by hand. i know ive been told to use swirl remover for it but i think since i dont have any kind of orbital buffer ill take this car to a detail shop a few minutes away to get that done. my first question is in thirty days i plan on cleaning and waxing the car again what should i do about the old wax ? would it come off when i wash the car or would it not matter ? my second question is that after i take it to the detail place to get the paint swirls out what can i do to make sure i never see those eye sores again ? i never put a dirty towel or any thing to my car i used microfiber towels to buff out the wax when i was done and 100% cotton terry cloths to apply it. did i do something wrong by doing that ? i also noticed alot of residue in little crevices of the car like in the trim i got most of it out but there is still a little bit left on the painted surface and the plastic surfaces. what should i do about those ?

Swirls and marring are a necessary evil of clearcoat paint. There is no way to avoid them on a daily driver.

Just use proper washing/drying technique and invest in a PC. Once you get one you'll wonder how you ever did without one.

Besides, that professional is gonna charge you more than what your PC would cost anyways(100 bucks at Lowe's).

what should i do next time i wax ? should i use a microfiber to buff or just a regular clean terry cloth. i dunno maybe the microfiber made it attract too much dust because theres alot of dust on it right now.
