Almost screwed up yesterday.

Actually, I did screw up. I have spray bottles of every sort of cleaner, degreaser, dressing and the like in my arsonal when I am on the road detailing. Yesterday when I was doing a spot cleaning on a carpet, I grabbed by accident Auto magics Magnificent wheel cleaner instead or dealers choice APC. Both are in the same type of spray bottle and marked accordingly but the color of the products are identicle and I was so into getting done because of time that I grabbed the wrong botle. Luckily I didnt spray the wheel cleaner and caught my mistake. Has anybody ever done such a thing? I know some have talked about doing this with the NXT line since all of their spray bottles look the same.

I grabbed the NXT interior dressing instead of the QD, and i was claying.

It made a mess of the clay, actually made a mess of everything lol, including interiors.

I have never made a mistake!! :grinno:

A good idea is to mark the top of the sprayer with a sharpie.

I use different colored sprayer on each bottle, seems to help.

Except the time a customer's kid thought he's help out and sprayed carpet cleaner all over a freshly waxed door.

I did the same thing on my old S-10. I had some 409 Concentrated spray cleaner and some QD spray (forget brand/type) in similar factory bottles. I was cleaning the wheel-wells with the 409 and QD-ing the paint. Some one walked up and started talking to me, and I grabbed the 409 thinking it was QD and sprayed my whole door! It left marks that are still there to this day if you look close enough. Lesson: Old, weathered single stage paint + powerful cleaner/de-greaser = Damaged Paint!

I sprayed the body with vinyl / rubber dressing by mistake in place of QD... I had one heck of a time to clean that away... :o

I grabbed 1000 grit instead of 2500. Whoops.

"I don't remember that scratch"

... About that sir...
