All you LEAF BLOWER users.... ???

How effective is a small leaf blower at drying a car? I'm seriously contemplating buying a small gas-powered, 25 cc leaf blower from home depot...

Does this work?

Along the same lines as this... how bout those vac n' blo type vacuums... the real thing or any wet/dry vac that also can blow air - do they blow hard enough to dry the car or is that dangerous because they can be spitting out dirt as well at your car. I've just never thought using a 215MPH leaf blower would be safe for your paint... heh :nixweiss

NO GAS! Must be elec. Gas from the engine can blow on to the car! I have been useing a elec. one for years now, Love it:)

OK, point taken... Electric is cool too I guess, probably much quieter too... Does it dry the car completely, or is blotting with an MF towel still necessary?

I would so that it gets about 79% of the water off the car, but I like it the best because it gets all the water out of all the cracks and places the water stays and then drips out on the finish, Then I use a MF or other drying towel to get the last little bits of water off the finish:xyxthumbs

How about THIS ONE ?

I have a wet/dry vac, so no need to duplicate that... also a wet/dry vac has lots of dirt in it, the thought of some of that coming out from the blower is kinda scary.

Our electric works well and is MUCH quieter than gas!! When the gas blowers start up in our neighborhood, you have to go inside!!

WOW, these are getting cheaper by the minute... A little more, and we'll be down in the range of two large MF's....

I think i'm getting one... I like the look of the TORO... Thanks! :xyxthumbs

Ooo they've got those in stock at my local store too :D

My family will probably think I'm nuts having a leaf blower out in the country with no trees around but oh well. ;)

That toro one looks like a mini cannon/gatling gun or something hehe.

I agree with RED Car GUY. The blower detaches from the vac, so it does not blow through on my Rigid from home depot. Its nice because I do not have to get out a vac and a blower. The pressure against the car is adjusted by adjusting the distance from the blower to the car. I use this blower to blow pine needles off my roof (house) leaves, especially to blow off the drive, as well as dry my car. It has plenty of power. Go to Home Depot, Lowes are whatever and compare the blowers to the vac and blow.

I know you already have a vac and don't want to explain buying another but, I believe the vac & blow is the better value and easier to use.

I was just getting my hair cut today, and the barber was using a hair drier to blow the hair off my shirt. So I was like hmmm, I should use that around the mirrors. The heat will also help evaporate the water, has anyone tried this?

Al when I was searching the forums I saw someone post that a hairdryer would work... but a leaf blower would work much much better.

Why blow the air out when you can blast it out?! More Power arh arh arh! I loved that show. ;)

The last several winters I have successfully used an electric hair drier to melt the ice off of, and to dry, the outside mirrors on a car I have to park outside. This is like the last resort when I have a heavy, unscrapeable coating of ice.
