Alittle paint correction on BMW 335i

My Dads new whip. He told the dealer not to touch it, but I dont think they listened. There was some severe micro-marring on a few panels and the hood. Due to the color of the paint it didnt really show up well in the pictures..... The halogen lights didnt really do justice on showing the imperfections in the paint, but I figured Id post up the before pictures so you can get some sort of idea of what it looked like before..... The paint also looked kind of dull before compounding. Thanks to transporting, and the dealer my claybar turned out almost black when I was finished.. Haha

PROCEDURE:

First:

Dawn Oxi-dish soap using 2 bucket method

Dried with leaf blower/microfiber towels

Cleaned wheels with P21 Total Auto Wash and Tropi-Care wheel cleaner

Preparation of paint:

Mother's Claybar and Lube

Exterior:

I used the KB priming method, which is all over Autopia.... Its priming an orange pad, then applying MG 105, and before wiping off, priming a grey pad and passing over the section 2-3 times to remove buffer swirls and polish

Meguiars 105 LC w/Orange Lake Country Pad

Meguiars 105 LC w/Grey Lake Country Pad

Meguiars Glaze w/White Lake Country Pad

Meguiars NXT Wax w/Red Lake Country pad

I was going to Finish with Meguiars 205, but after using the Grey pad with 105 the paint seemed almost flawless.. All the imperfections were removed, and the grey pad took away all the compounding and buffing marks left behind by the orange pad/meguiars 105... :grin

Wheels:

P21 Complete Auto Wash

Tropi-Care wheel cleaner

Black-Magic on the tires

I also used Meguiars Gold Class wax on the rims to try to prevent the horrible brake dust

Exhaust Tips:

Chrome polish

Interior:

Ultima Interior Shampoo Gel

Vacuum

Microfiber towels for cleaning and dusting surfaces

Engine Bay-didnt really need detailing but I just touched it up with P21 Complete Auto Wash and a damp microfiber

BEFORE (like I said. I have a bunch of before pictures, none of which do justice of the paint's condition... the after pictures should speak for themselves)
