:inspector: Looks pretty good. Not what I would call impressive though.

Sorry. I'm sure that's not the kind of response you were looking for.

I only say this because you want people to say wow when you post pics right? To me it just shows a dirty car that you made clean. Nothing goes "pop".

Part of it is the camera work. You should never show a closer pic of the dirty console than the detailed one. You probably detailed it great but you can't see details in the after pic. The close up of the wheel just makes the wheel look cleaner than it was, not necessarily detailed.

Please take this as constructive critisism. Some of your other showcased work is great. Got any Black Hummers to do?

hey man, its cool

i love criticism because thats what actually makes you better

this was just a quick wash/wax, did nothing special to make the paint "pop"... coulda used a 1-step of 106 come to think of it :hmmm:

and yeah im sorry im not the "world know photographer"... i dont have that great of a camera to start out with, and even if i did i wouldnt kno how to set it up to take photos like some other ppl on this forum does (kudos to yall people :bigups)

Keep em' coming AJ. Practice with the camera makes perfect. At least you have the drive to photograph your work. I know my pictures are worthless, consequently you would never know I did any work.:D

Now that's the way to take criticism.:bigups

For what it's worth I was criticized early this week on the forum header (banner). I welcomed it and I'm very glad they did because it made me come up with something I like much better.

There is no way I could have been a detailer as long as I have without being able to take criticism and use it to get better. Please don't let me discourage you from posting pics. That's what this forum is all about.

I respectfully disagree. Take a look at that filthy carpet and then the clean shot. That is a pretty darn good improvement! Nasty wheels and then a beautiful wheel. True, the paint does not "pop" but then it is really hard to see that in photographs.

My 2 centavos.

I have found that taking the exact same before and after picture is very hard to do. Even remembering what before pictures were taken is difficult enough without scrolling back through the pictures and then trying to duplicate the after to a certain before picture. I use a tripod for before and after correction work (the only way to see true results). But for the entire vehicle before and afters, I think there is no way to duplicate to the T.

AJ - The car looks good. My in-laws will be for Xmas and I am going to do a full detail on their RX330 - same color as the one you did. Can't wait!!

If you want tips on photo taking, look at the current Wolfgang Porsche thread. It shows taking pics are sharp angles to surfaces where reflections are maximized.

Now white or off white can be a tough color to have pop. I do not think Meg's Gold Class is considered a "wow" product these days. I think you would have better luck with NXT on white if you stuck with Meg's brand or consider using other products mention at DC more (PB EX-P or Natty's, Wolfgang Sealant, etc). Or, consider using an gloss enhancer (like PB's S&G) to provide some added pop.
