Airbrushes - What do I need ?

Ok, I'am a total noob when it comes to airbrushes, I just got a Werther-Mac A compressor at a bazar for a ridiculously low price and want to try my hand at touching up rock chips and minor scratches. What is a good model airbrush and make, dual or single action, siphon or gavity feed, that can do this type of work ?

My experiences are limited to Paasche and Badger. The Paasches were a lot nicer. Mine where basically siphon feed but would use a small gravity feed-type cup for little jobs. For what you're doing either will work fine, but note that you might end up spraying from some odd angles so take that into account. There are a bunch of good airbrushes these days, I'd check out the MicroMark catalog (sorry, no link handy but look 'em up) to see a few good ones and compare their features.

Single action are easier but double action have their advantages. These days it seems like all the good ones are double action.

Don't buy a real cheapie. FWIW I bought a Paasche double action (forget the model #) when I somehow lost my ancient single action one during a move but I'd probably get something different if I were buying today.

Consider an inline filter kit with the hose you get and check that the compressor output is OK without a regulator.
