AIO or FPII

Same as FP? No they are similar but not the same. FPII (Micro Polish) contains more oils for lubrication (no fillers) to allow you to work it longer.

How about FP II as your last polishing step, then top with AIO followed by your favorite very last step product?

Bill D,

You hit the nail on the head for me. Is it necassary to use AIO after FP ? Doesn't FP leave your paint squeeky clean and ready for your sealant or wax?

My use of AIO is mainly to create a light sealant "prep surface" for my SG ( or other sealant I understand as well) rather than apply for necessity of cleaning the paint again. I suppose if one were using a carnauba only as the LSP, the AIO isn't totally necessary. The way I understand it,a sealant as a LSP works best when it has a coat of a product like AIO on beforehand to bond to.

I completelyunderstand the bonding issue. Will FP create a surface witch is bondable?

Will FP give the exact result that AIO will give I guess is a better way of stateing the question?

I have both products, I havn't used the FP yet. I use the AIO all the time. I was wondering when I would use the FP. Does the FP clean up minor swirls better? It seems that perhaps the products are quite the same and it's just personal preference, Or am I wrong?

Does One do more of something that the other doesn't?

I don't find the products to be the same type. FP is a light ,finishing polish that can remove light defects. AIO( for me) doesn't remove defects, it can chemically clean and enhance the color quality of the paint. It also leaves behind a selant layer --the prep surface I refer to for SG ( and others) to bond to. FP is a pure polish no polymer sealant properties

Bill D you are 100% correct , I too like yourself use both products , FPII to polish the surface up to the highest possible gloss and then I use AIO to clean anything that my polishing may have left behind and to put a sealant type bass down for my LSP which for me is P21S or S100. I pesonally have been doing this for a while and I love the results I get from using these two product together.

Oh yeah FPII (Micro Polish) does have mechanial abrasives in it , just very fine ones.

Yeah, I believe Deanski mentioned the principle abrasive in Menzerna is the highest quality(?) aluminum oxide

Yep thats correct , I don't know about all the products but I know Power Gloss is 50% aluminum oxide. Also they are all machined to be the same uniform size granuals , that is why they work so well. At least that's what I think.;)

:shocked Wow, that's exceptional ! :xyxthumbs

Thanks guys, you answered my questions and I now understand the differences. I wouldn'tike of following FPII with the AIO but know I will, makes perfect sense!:xyxthumbs

Seems like everybody loves the AIO stuff as a product to put down before any sealent!

Whats better to put down as a cleaner the FPII or the 4*UPC, or is both = to use?

I will be using the 4*UPP as a sealent (first time I have tried anything differant than Zaino......

Thanks, I have learned Tooooo much from this board:D

I think folks are fond of UPP over AIO, the FP II would be your last actual polishing step before the AIO and UPP

Well, just to throw out another way to go, I put my UPP over the Pro version of 1Z's MP. Works fine, no bonding issues or anything like that. No need for AIO or other "cleaners" so I don't bother. I'd assume the FPIII would work fine too but if you have the 4-Star cleaner you might as well use it.

I always use AIO if I'm using SG, but not as a base for other LSPs. Just not how I do it.

If I understand though AIO and UPP are not the same stuff (UPP is the sealant correct?)

What Im asking is if the 4*UPC is better or just as good as the FPII? Then as you stated I would apply the AIO, and my last step would be the UPP or any other type of sealant.

AIO and UPP are very different products. All in all, the AIO is really just optional. You could go right to UPP immediately after whatver your last polish was.

From what Im reading, people are liking AIO as a final (Chemical) cleaner just before there sealant----Just trying to get a better understanding on this stuff:)

To answer my other question, should I go FPII or use the 4*UPC as my polish?? Thanks
