AIO = greasy??

I experienced a very strange occurance this weekend during my detailing sessions. I was applying AIO by PC with a polishing pad. I used it just as I always do, but this time it seemed a bit greasy when removed...I could leave finger print smudges in the paint. I tried going over with both Z6 and Final Inspection without much change. The only thing that helped was plain ol' distilled water, but it still didn't cure it completely.

Have any of you experienced this before? If so, how did you fix it?

Could your problem stem from the PC leaking some sort of lubricant/silicone? Please bare in mind that I currently don't own a PC, but after reading your post it was the first thing that came to my mind.

Zane,

I have never seen AIO act like that. With all of the comments out regarding a "Klasse change," I'm really wondering if there was a bad batch?

I pulled two case samples from stock I received 60 days ago. I also pulled two case samples from stock we received late Friday. I did not see a difference in the product or its usage characteristics.

This is a bottle of AIO that came from you about a month ago. I haven't seen it act this way before either, but don't really know what would cause it. It wasn't anything major, but I definitely noticed.

I certainly appreciate that...I may try it a time or two more and see if it is the same. Maybe it was some freak environmental condition or something.

:)

Is it possible that you had a high humidity day and the temperature was not very high causing the AIO to take longer to cure?

Was your pad maybe slightly too damp? I have had a similar experience when applying AIO with cyclo pads that were wetter then damp:). When I tried to wipe it off it kind of smeared around. I had to let it sit for a little bit before removal instead of doing the WOWO method.

The humidity was low (West Texas) and the temp. was in the 70s.

I used one spray of distilled water to prime the pad as necessary...never wet.

Would you have anyway of finding out if there is a change in the product (AIO) from the distributor? Maybe some definitive word will help sort this out.:xyxthumbs

I'm not going to put the distributor on the spot, nor will I make any public statements before I have the FACTS. I will make my own decision and correctly report my findings.
