AIO/EXP + Pink Wax Combo

Here's come pictures of a detail that I did on my dad's SUV. Used AIO/EXP/FX-100 on the entire vehicle and followed it up a week later with Pink Wax on the hood so see if I could see a difference that adding a carnauba topping would add to AIO/EXP combination. To tell you the truth, I couldn't really tell the difference. I did notice that the hood was very clear and reflective when I pulled it out into the sun to take these pictures. Wasn't able to take similar before pictures as it was cloudy and rainy when I applied AIO/EXP. The hood was much slicker prior to the application of the Pink Wax. It rained the next day and the hood had very tight beads. Forgot to compare with the beading on the roof with just AIO/EXP.

The AIO/EXP was prepped with wash and a clay (Clay Magic) as paint is in excellent condition. This isn't an everday driver and is kept in a covered carport.

Overall, I did like the look and couldn't really see a difference between the fender and hood panels. Not sure if I will continue to pursue looking into following up a polymer sealant with carnauba. I will probably try my sample of Pink Wax again to compare beading and ease of washing characteristic. I probably will try it with AIO/SG if I think that the SG leaves a flat, sterile look. Or I could always continue using AIO/UPP which I already do like. I just don't know if the UPP with be that durable, hence the interest in SG or even 2180 and topping with carnauba if I want to try for more depth and wetter look. Or other suggestions are more than welcome. However, with this light brown metallic and my silver metallic, I just don't think I will be able see much difference. It's not that i don't like the look that I get with AIO and EXP or UPP, just seeing if I like topping them with carnauba better! Seems like products and combinations to try never ends!!!

your links didn't work for me.

Sorry about that. As you can see, it's corrected now.

FWIW, When I got home yesterday after work, I checked the slickness of the hood and the fenders and it seemed like the hood was now much slicker than it was when I first removed the wax haze and probably slicker than the fender portion with only AIO/EXP. I believe my dad did drive in the rain at least twice since the application of the Pink Wax. I've read about the curing time and how the FK1 products seem to get better a few days later, but I thought that applied to their polymer products. Maybe this applies to their Pink Wax as well?

All FK products behave like that. Pink is a carnauba blend with synthetic components.

Just reread the description from FK1's website.

"#2685 is blended from #1 Brazilian Carnauba Wax and durable poly resins."

I was initially a little disappointed at first when I completed buffing off the PW and it wasn't very slick at all. It was a free sample and it did get me more interested in carnaubas, so I figured I'f give it a shot. I was thinking about ordering some 2180 to try against SG, so I might include PW in that order. I already have too many detailing products and am thinking about getting more!

Thanks or fixing the links! That paint looks warm and inviting! Nice Job. I've not used my PW yet, but now that I've seen your results...i'm inspired.

Thanks. This was my trial run using the sample of Pink Wax that I received in my order for 425, FX-100 and 146. That started getting me interested in topping polymer sealants with carnauba. I have to admit that I wasn't really impressed with the slickness at first, but almost a week later it's almost a slick as the AIO/UPPx2 combo that I have on my car. I always thought that application of carnauba would take a LOT more effort than polymer sealants, the application and removal of PW wasn't tough at all! I also pulled the car out into the sun yesterday afternoon and I did notice a slight difference between the hood (with PW) and the fender (w/o PW). Actually wished it had rained so that I could see how it beaded up. Maybe a good excuse to wash it this weekend just to see! I am now considering an order of 2180 + Pink Wax or just adding Natty's Blue to my already very large product collection! Wish I could find a vendor that carried both to save on shipping!
