AIO and SMR Hazing

I am about to use a medium SMR (SSR2) on my black '97 BMW to remove mild swirl marks and spider-webbing using a PC 7424 with a white polishing pad. I tried a small test spot on my driver's side door handle by hand and the SMR eliminated most of the marring, but it appears to have also left some faint white hazing. So I have a couple questions:

1. Should I expect that the SMR will likely leave the same kind of hazing on the rest of the car using the PC?

2. I intend to follow the SMR with Klasse AIO; will that be sufficient to remove the hazing, or will I have to go down to a milder SMR (SSR1) first before using the AIO?

Thanks for your thoughts; I have learned a ton from this site already.

You'll likely have to step down to SSR 1 prior to the AIO. The white polishing pad might not be enought to remove all swirls. Be prepared to step up to a more aggressive pad if need be with the SSR 2.

Has it been repainted...Usually BMW paint is pretty tough and SSR 2 and a polishing pad via the PC won't make a dent.

AIO has pretty much zero cutting ability, it is mainly a chemical cleaner. You would have to polish for hours with AIO to make a dent in about anything, even then the pad itself would likely be the most abrasive part of the combination.

I haven't personally used it, but a lot of people use FPII for cleaning up hazing from compounds. I can personally attest that Adams SHR works very well for cleaning up compound hazing :bigups

The car has not been repainted; it's the original BMW paint. In an effort to start with the least aggressive approach, I opted for a slightly more aggressive SMR level with the less aggressive polishing pad. Since the marring on the car isn't that severe, I'm hoping this combo will be enough. If, as you say, the paint is too hard and I don't make a dent in the marring, I will go to a more aggressive pad. Then I assume I would need to go to a Final Polish product before the AIO and the SG?
