AG HD on clearance at Wal*Mart...

I unfortunately had to be at Wal*Mart this evening. Couldn't help but rummage through the "car detailing" section and saw that AG was on clearance...

Would be a decent beater wax.

There are 4 boxes of AG sitting on the shelf of my local Walmart. I think they are the original 4 boxes that they put out when the line was introduced. I am still waiting for it to hit $5 :)

I saw that on the shelf at my local WM -- honestly, I'd give it a shot for $10, but $20 just still seems to high.

Did anyone ever use AG HD? I think the two boxes that my WM had were the original ones from 2 years ago -- I'm pretty surprised it took this long to reach "clearance" status.

I remember a ton of enthusiasts going out and getting it, but I do not think that the average wal-mart customer is going to grab a $30 tin of wax over a $5 bottle of whatever Meguiars/TW product is near.

Agreed, if they do, chances are they will take it home, make a mess and bring 1/2 the tub back asking for a refund. I mentioned this when it first came out, that product does not belong on the shelves of Walmart, I cannot fathom who thought it was a good idea other than some corporate guy that used it on his well maintained Boxter or Miata and then decided they HAD to carry it. John Q Public would have been better served by COUNTLESS other boutique LSPs.

Isn't that red clearance tag an indicator that they're done retailing this product?

Yes it is -- I actually asked the manager of the WM near me if they marked it down further if it didn't sell. She told me "We'll mark it down until it's no longer on the shelf, since we won't be carrying it again."

I agree with yakky -- NO WAY this belongs on the shelf there. Of course, the average Wal-Martian cannot release the power of Meg's Ultimate Compound, and they sell that, too!

I am waiting for payday friday to pick up a couple. I bought it when it first came out and loved it over a coat of Klasse, and it seems to last a good while.

They hardly ever clearance anything in the automotive department here. I believe most of the time they just send it to Big Lots or the trash heap. You guys that find this stuff are blessed.
