One of my friends brought his car over this morning and we did a minor detail job on it. The simple steps:

a) wash with Meguiar's Gold Class Shampoo

b) clay with Clay Magic

c) Meguiar's SMR

d) Poorboy's PP

e) AIO

f) SG

g) Stoners on the tires and windows

I think he might top it with NXT, but here are some silly pictures showing how it looks following the SG. Comments, criticisms and suggestions are encouraged and appreciated.

*UPDATE*

I also washed and added a coat of EX-P to my A4. The last time I detailed it was a couple months ago when I used clay, PP, EX-P x2 and #16. Anyway, it's super sunny out right now, so the pictures aren't great.

Nice job!

Is that second picture entirely reflecting through the paint or only half? It looks like the right half is clearer than the other?

The second pic is an entire reflection. I think it looks different because I took the picture at an angle, so as not to be in it myself. But you're right. the reflection looks blurrier on one side of the ridge in the hood.

cool since we are talking about VW detailing. Here is mine over the holiday weekend:

I got a Porter-Cable

I've been using Griots #2 Machine polishing liquid

Then top it off with One Grand Blitz wax.

However the next detailing session I will be switching to Klasse All-in-one followed by Klasse Sealant Glaze. Trying to keep this 6 year old car looking tight as showroom.

Looks good! We used a PC for SMR and Poorboy's PP. However, we applied and removed AIO and SG by hand. I added a coat of EX-P to my silver A4 today and might try to take some pictures tomorrow.

Looks great. That one reflection pic with the person in it was kind of weird. You donâ€â„¢t really know if its all or half of a reflection. lol

If you want criticism too... was Poorboys PP an unnecessary step? I guess it is good to have it, but AIO does nearly the same thing. I guess it took the paint to the next level :D

You're probably right about the PP being superfluous, but I think that using it + AIO probably cleaned the paint even more. I had actually told the owner to get SSR 2 to remove swirl marks, but he got PP instead. Basically, we used it because it was there. SSR 2 and the eradication of swirl marks will have to be for next time....
