I am curious as to what you guys either think or would do to correct this. The vehicle is a brand new 4x4 Silverado crew cab. The frame has some sections that have rust from the factory I guess you could say. What would you recommend to do in order to get rid of this besides sanding and painting. Is there something that can just be sprayed on to kill the rust and cover it up so it looks better in the wheel wells. Especially in the rear?

Try rustoleum rust reformer spray, it finishes in satin black but you can paint over it
with any color. It suppose to convert the rust to a hard paintable finish.

That's amazing...just read about it on the net...I can use this on a area of my truck!

The best rust arrester I have used is called POR-15...I did a lot of research on products before buying..I even talked to body shops as what they used...and POR-15 came up 99% of the time....

I did a spring project in 2007 on my ATV..it is a 1987 Suzuki 4x4 ATV I use for plowing my driveway...I bought it new in "87....well the body plastics were shot and decided to replace them and do some engine work aslo...

after stripping down the machine to the frame level I seen lots of rust areas on the frame....I cleaned the areas as best i could and did the POR-15 treatment...I sprayed the pickle stuff on first to get a bonding surface..then did the POR paint converter...came out super..my ATV sits out most of the time..and to this day it still looks like I just did it and NO rust blooms.....

The product is not cheap but you get what you pay for....the body shops told me they never got a recall on areas treated with this product...
