Advice wanted on 2004 BMW 325Ci

Some family friends just purchased one of these and it's dark blue and they want me to detail and would like your advice on a few things. When I saw it in person the paint looked in good condition with only some spiderwebbing.

I am not a fan of blue but on this one it really made the car look great.

So I have a PC and few stuff such as XMT, OHC, OC, OP, #80, #83, VMG, RMG and have some lake country ccs pads coming next week.

So here are some questions

#1 Are the clear coats on this car soft or hard?

#2 The top of the dash on these models have a very soft plastic feel as if it's not quite plastic but not shore what it is and wondering if I can apply a dressing to this or would it be pointless.

#3 They have chrome on several bits especially around the windows and wondering if this is metal or plastic and would would be best to apply to them to really make them pop.

For waxes I am just starting a collection and wondering which you would choose for dark blue between CG 5050 or Pinnacle Signature Series.

I agree, the paint is pretty soft.

The chrome around the side windows is metal. Chrome polish works well.

the chrome on the grill is plastic.

The dash is plastic. I use Meg's Quik Interior Detailer. I wouldn't put "shiney" dressing on the dash. There's too much surface area and getting shiney probably isn't a good idea (glare in the windshield).

Kastanaras:

1. Some of the BMW's have soft clear coat (mostly the Black color). Others are ok on hardness: pretty easy to work on. I recondition approx. 10 BMW's per month for a dealer and the hardness is pretty consistent except for Black.

2. For the dash and interior leather, I lightly scrub with a Boar's Hair brush and a mild mixture of liquid soap and water (dilution 10 parts water to 1 part soap). I use a terry cloth towel and compressed air to remove/dry the area. This will clean and give the interior an "as new" appearance.

3. Some window trim is chrome metal and some models have a chrome plastic. I typically tape this while compounding and finish it with Meguiar's #26 when I do the paint waxing.

For wax, the Pinnacle Series is very good. The only reason I use #26 is because it dries clear and won't show white in any small chips.

Thanks guys,

Will probly just wipe down the black top part of dash and dress the rest (I only aim for a low shine finish)

For the seats I will use pinnacle leather cleaner and then use leather conditioner.

For the paint seeing as it's in good condition will probly start with polish pad and something light and see how that goes.

For the windows still not shore what I will use on them.
