Advice needed

I am in the middle of detailing an awesome '93 Cobra and noticed the emblems on it. I was wondering if anyone new what it was or have to get rid of it?

Can't tell if it's wax build up or if the chrome plating has began to flake. I've seen lots of pot metal (cast metals) lose chrome plating from the edges and that car is old enough. Kind of looks like the later.

With gearhead on this one. Cant quite tell what it is. If you have a steamer,blast away at it with that. That should break it down if it is wax/polish

Looks like the chrome is peeling on my end.

It is odd, because when I pick at it with my fingernail some of it comes off? Could it be corrosion?

Could be the pot metal under the chrome plating is showing and that is corroded.

Cant really tell - but when you pick some off, what does it look like underneath where it came off ?? That is the key that will tell you what is going on..

I would take some hot water on a Q-tip and carefully rub a spot and see what came off on the Q-tip..

See if you can remove that emblem from the inside of the car if possible and get it away from the paint if you need to..

Dont want to accidently cause any damage to the paint around it..
