Advice needed: Bumper touch up

Hi Everyone,

I did a quick search, but I wanted to validate my game plan before going forward. Here's a picture of the damage:

As you can see, the paint around the scratch is not smooth / level. Is the best way to approach this:

  1. Clean repair area with wax/grease remover.
  2. Wet sand (any grit suggestions?) to remove loose paint and smooth surface
  3. apply touch up paint to slowly build up / fill the scrach
  4. wet sand again to level touch up paint

That looks to me like some unusual scratching, Is it regular BC/CC paintwork. The close-up photo almost looks like deep scratches in a clear film?

Otherwise I'd follow your steps but miss out step 2, you want to keep as much factory paint there as possible also presanding takes away the edge of the scratch and the edges are great for paint adhesion. Once you have it full (overfull) you'll smoothe those raised areas anyway and it shouldn't in my experience affect your result too much.

The biggest tip I can offer is DON"T OVERSAND!!!! 2000gt paper is a pretty safe option and I wouldn't recommend going any heavier than 1500
