Advanced Swirl Remover

Nice-N-Clean

Hey guys,
I posted a while ago that I had bought some pinnacle wax products. I think the Advanced swirl remover was a waste!!!! I think it damaged it more than it helped. It has these beads in it that are supposed to fill in the swirl marks, but they scratched my paint. You cant see it till its in the direct sunlight. I wouldnt reccommend it to anyone. Has someone else had better results? If so, PLEASE tell me where I went wrong.
This is by no means a bash against Pinnacle Wax. I lover the Souveran Wax. It is SOOO easy to use!!!

You're probably not using it right. I used it with great results on my dad's old black 1940 Buick before he sold it.

You need to work it in alot if using a Porter Cable 7424/7336 in order to break down the diminishing abrasives. After that, you'll need to follow up with a lighter polish to remove any hazing left from ASR, as it is a pretty heavy-duty polish.

I have used it on black paint with a cutting pad and the results were just what I wanted. It was a little difficult to use but I still think it is a quality product.

I used it on a black car and it seemed a little oilly after and I used AIO to clean up the paint But it did work to bring back the gloss if not clear up some defects.

Bringing this one back from the grave. What products would you compare this to in abrasiveness? Holland Patrick compared it to IP but not have used that product what else would it compare to.

I use ASR and couldn't get a handle yesterday on an Infiniti Silver in 80 degree direct sunlight. It either spread a load and didn't haze much or hazed a little. Light Cut Green w/ SMR revealed some swirls, finally settled with ASR w/ Yellow Medium Cut and it didn't improve the surface alot or take any minor scratches out. I'm waiting on Optimum Polish to finish the car, but I'm seriously demoralized! Any tips or instructions?

In my findings with the Pinnacle swirl removers the regular SMR corresponded to about a SSR1.5 (somewhere between SSR1 and 2) and the ASR to about a SSR2.75 (close to SSR3 but not quite as aggressive). While I used them both a few times I have to say that they are not very user friendly at all and I actually found them better to use, in terms of defect removal and ease of use, by rotary rather than PC. There are no real tricks but I doubt they are good to use in the sunlight since I actually had trouble removing the haze after polishing with the rotary, some Megs FI was required. I also found dusting to be a major problem with the polishes, much worse than the Poorboys and Menzerna lines. I will most likely not be purchasing them again since there are other alternatives that are much easier to use. Woob, you are going to love the Optimum polish, it is a touch less aggressive than SSR2.5, right along the lines of a Menzerna IP and at $16 for the 32oz it is a steal.

MS22,

Thanks for the info. I'm not happy at all with the Pinnacle Polishes. They don't abrade ver y well and are just infy in cleaning / applying. I'm guessing Medium Cut w/ Optimum will be very awarding.

The best pads to use with the pinnacle Swirl removers are the Lake country pads. The LC pads are made using close cell foam that allows the diminishing abrasives to work.

For the Most part, I only use the White and Orange pads. The Yellow Cutting Pad when using the Advance Swirl remover will leave some hazing that will need to be buffed out with a white pad and the swirl remover or the paintwork cleansing lotion. This was a detail done on a 2001 Corvette Z06 by Mike and I a few weeks ago.
