Advanced Detailing: 94 300 ZX TT

I think it must have been almost two years since i last posted on here.

Before i go into this detail, can someone tell why i could be having problems doing a copy and paste from one site to another.

When i try to do so, the text only copies but not the pics.

Anyway, this new customer called me after he got my number over a year ago from a local auto spa where they only do your average basics.

He's been slowly building the car to his liking after he bought ot two years ago.

The interior has been restored while also adding very subtle mods. He also added a nice stereo system and a set of wheels.

The car has previously been painted and even though he takes good care of it, it was in some need of an overhaul.

This is his weekend toy but even his daily driver 5 series bimmer is kept extremely clean.

Now he's working on getting his engine compartment to look right, adding some carbon fiber items.

When i went to look at the car initially in the garage it looked awesome but of course that tends to happen with black cars in a darker environment.

When he pulled it out the swirls were apparent and some minor scratches.

We set an appointment for the following week.

The initial pics i took before i washed the car and you can see the swirls buti also felt that it needed to be clayed in the worst way.

After claying just half of the spoiler

The paint was so soft that you can see the marring caused by the claybar and i used a very mild one.

I removed the windshield spraynozzle to get to these spots better.

Then the usual afternoon Florida storms rolled in

It took multiple passes get the swirls out slowly.Everytime i barely wiped off what little residue was left it seemd that i would create minor lines in the paint because of it's softness

After multiple hours of buffing out the swirls i followed it with a black 3M pad with high temp finishing polish.

There was still some patina in the paint on the hood and front fenders after finishing the polishing.

I topped it off with Pinnacle soverain wax.
