Adam's Detail Spray Review

I like teeth
I was recently asked by Dylan if I would be willing to do a few reviews. He said "If I send you a couple of products would you be willing to do a quick review? Good, bad, or otherwise... I have a couple of things I think you'd enjoy." How can you say no to that?

With that said, this is my honest review of Adam's Detail Spray.

Observations:

  1. Easy to understand directions
  2. Watery Viscosity
  3. Smells GREAT! Bubble Gum with a hint of cherry is how I would describe it
  4. Price = $13 for 16 oz or $45 for a gallon

Product Claims:

  • Enhance Gloss and Depth in Shine
  • Keep Your Car Looking Just Detailed
  • Great For Interior Detailing
  • Amazing Scent
  • Clay Lube
  • Drying Aid

All of the claims are pretty typical of for a detail spray, and Adam's passed all with flying colors.

When I first used it, I wasn't fond of the smell, but by the time I had used a few times and finished the majority of the bottle, I changed my tune. If you don't like it at first, try again, this stuff grows on you! Even after washing my microfibers, I could smell the ones I used with the detail spray lol :D

Best uses I found: Clay lube, removing light dust, cleaning door jambs, and cleaning under the gas tank cover.

What impressed me the most: When I cleaned the doorjambs with this product, the interior (was not sprayed down) smelled great for about a day after. No other product I have used has ever done this.

Now for the plot twist: I personally would not buy this product.

Wait what?! Didn't you just say it did everything it was supposed to? Well yes, I did.

So why would you not buy this product? It's pretty simple: the price is simply too high for me.

My belief is that Adam's Polishes is trying to sell quality products that are so easy to use that even a child could use and understand what to do. In making a product that is ready-to-use, all cost competitiveness goes out the window. That's not unique to Adam's, I would say that about pretty much any ready-to-use detail spray.

However, as Adam says himself, he is not selling products to compete on a price level with others. He is making quality products that are as easy to use as possible.

So does he do that here? Yes, absolutely.

Am I willing to pay roughly 10 times more for a gallon of detail spray that is ready-to-use rather than a concentrate that does the same function with the same level of performance? Unfortunately, no. Even if I have to forego the really nice spray bottle that comes with the detail spray :(

Conclusion:

If cost is not a factor, you will be happy with the performance of this detail spray.

If I could make one change to this product, I would have it available in a concentrate form, in addition to a ready-to-use form, to make it more cost competitive for those with a smaller budget.

Nice. Adam's just released their newest version of the detail spray. I suppose this is it?

Thanks you for the review! AF welcomes reviews of all products and companies (as long as there is no bashing). Your reviews are direct and to the point and we all appreciate that style!

The newer version offers longer lasting protection and claims to extend the life of any LSP.

I don't mind paying .35 per car treatment for a good detail spray.

(based on gallon price, per ounce).

How much product is used to cover an average size car? Less than an ounce?

is this the old Adam's or the new stuff, what happened did you get kicked out of the boy's club.

Old stuff, and not sure what you mean?

No sorry, I got sent a few things about a month ago. They weren't ready to send me this yet. This is the OLD formula. Naturally they release a new formula the day after I post the review. lol

Excellent review, Roshan!

Thank you Mike!

Todd, that is one of many reasons I love it here! Thanks for looking :bigups

I'm not sure how you would only use an ounce of detail spray for an entire car. I go through 16 to 32 ounces easy.

With that said, this is not a very cost effective option in comparison to concentrated products that can make detail sprays.

16-32oz is a little excessive to me for detail spray on 1 car. I do 2 sprays each panel and 4 on the hood.
