acryllic vs cross linking poymer...

maybe David B can chime in. What are the advantages/ disagvantages of each system? The only thing I've read is that some manufacturers claim that acryllic can a bit brittle. I know that manufacturers claim that polymers can penetrate the pores of the paint-can acryllic do the same?

I think it's a lot deeper than that...Acrylics ARE polymers; polymer simply refers to the chain structure of the molecules. I believe the two main categories are acrylic polymers and silicone polymers, but I'm not sure.

I'd suggest that you pose your question on the FK1 forum to see what their company line is on this, but their forum was hacked this afternoon.

I did a while back. They simply said that they found that acryllics tend to be more brittle than the polymer/copolymer/resins that they preferr to use.

It's all about marketing and getting you to buy their product. Polymers inherently crosslink. But saying "Cross Linking Polymers" sounds so impressive! Acrylic=polymer in the world of chemistry, but one sounds more impressive than the other to some folks.
