"Wax can never be crystal clear. Have you ever seen a candle that had the clarity of a glass rod? Didnâ€â„¢t think so."

Paraffin wax is NOT carnauba wax.

An interesting website that deserves a place of honor on the misinformation highway

So what does wax have to do with a acrylic finish??? And what is wrong with the web site. Don't post garbage if you can not back it up.

I think people are laughing at the websites use of references surrounding "candle wax" vs acrylic. Candle wax is not the same as carwax - neither is earwax, but I'll try and refrain from being a complete smart***...

I have no opions on whether the product is "legit" or not - other than the fact that the website doesn't promote that image...

"Most waxes maintain to be safe on these types of paint finishes however you are instructed to test the wax in an inconspicuous spot first. Why? And why must you always apply waxes in a circular motion? Is it because clear-coat safe abrasives look better leaving circular scratches on your finish? And if that were the case, wouldnâ€â„¢t it be safe to assume that if you continue to rub these abrasives in a circular motion, there just might be a chance you could finally abrade through your clearcoat or begin thinning your paint? Remember, abrasives only quit working when you quit rubbing! Hum, ever wonder when enough is enough?"

Abrasives in wax? Since when was this equation true??? {wax = polish} I'm probably missing something here...

No need to get nasty. I think that TOGWT was saying that the website had several misleading pieces of information (i.e. wax needing to be applied in circular motion, all waxes containing abbrasives, requiring additional products to hide swirl marks, etc.) and some that were along the lines of half truths. Many of these comments are generalizations that just aren't the case for all products across the board.

Wax has nothing to do with an acrylic finish, that's the point. Two different products. Sealant vs. Wax type difference. Most people know that a *wax* won't last as long as an acrylic sealant but in some cases you can't beat the look of a wax.

What's wrong with the website? It's full of incorrect facts. You can't compare candle wax to carnauba wax.

Don't post garbage if you can not back it up?? Who is posting *garbage* and what is there to back up?

The bottom line is every day there is a new "miracle" product that comes out, which isn't a bad thing, but when they use the power of the internet to misinform, it really upsets me.

This product may be decent, but the comparisons to candle wax is ridiculous and speaks volumes for this company's intent.

Just remember, "Believe half of what you see, and none of what you hear"

You aren't affiliated with this company in any way, are you?

MD10RX8,

Welcome to Autopia!

No offense but are you in any way affiliated with the site? I'm a little surprised that you got defensive an hour into a thread that will be viewed by hundreds of people who will surely chime in with opinions. That's the beauty of Autopia, that you will get lots of people who have tried that product, you will get lots of people with a strong background in how to decrypt advertising jargon, and you will even get a few people with a chemistry background.

If you aren't affiliated with the site, monitor the thread for a while so as to get the most benefit from it!

FWIW, member Scottwax met with someone from Acrylicwerks for a "waxoff"; Acrylicwerks failed terribly in comparison to Klasse AIO. Scottwax kept wanting to try it on a faded red hood to show whether it would remove oxidation easily (AIO did, Acryliwerks didn't); the guy from Acrylicwerks kept using it on a faded wiper arm.

The gist of the test seemed to be that the AcrylicWerks guy kept trying to steer the test to one specific spot, the wiper arm, and that he didn't want to see it get used against Klasse on the faded red hood.

:hm

Let's see:

4 posts - asking out of the blue if we ever heard of it - then gets defensive when we say it blows.

Ya think?

:banned:

Mosca, I believe it was Anthony Orosco who met with him. However, I could be wrong.

I apologize if my statement of fact offended you or Acrylic-Werks; Iâ€â„¢ve been around this site for awhile and to my knowledge have never posted â€Ëœgarbageâ€â„¢. I was simply stating that some of the statements made are misleading.

I always find it interesting when someoneâ€â„¢s first post is for a little used product and when itâ€â„¢s challenged that same person takes to its defence like it was a personal attack

Yep, you're right Spilchy. AO met, Scottwax sampled and posted.

MD10RX8,

Stick around and you will learn far more about this car care stuff than you ever thought was possible! Unless of course you aren't interested, in which case, thanks for coming by and thinking enough of us to direct us to that website, tossing in your $.02, and moving on!

I am not connected to the company in any way, shape or form! I am just looking for good products to use on my RX8. Right now I use Menerza polish for cleaning and Pinnacle for a wax. I did not mean to offend anyone an hope others do the same for me.

I DID do a search and for some reason only came up with one hit...I was just wandering about this product since Klasse is a favorite and it is a Acrylic also. Thanks to those who posted.

Here she is.......This is not a good picture...Actually the Pinnicle does a better job than this pic. I am no photo guy......
