I saw this on someone's website, sorry I can't remember who ...

"According to a recent report, a fully detailed vehicle gets on average $467 MORE on trade in value"

Is there such a report that I can reference ???? ... obviously that's a good marketing "tool".

Thanks :xyxthumbs

I've done cars in such bad shape, I've probably added well over $1000 in value. You polish out oxidized paint right and the car looks new again.

I fully detailed our 01 Saturn to maximize the trade in value when we were shopping for our Envoy. They still low-balled us by $500 on fair trade in value. Good thing we kept it. We sold it for $2,300 more that their offer via a private deal. :)

I recently detailed my dad's 01 Audi A4 with some DACP, hand polish, and S100 and he ended up getting $1300 more then the origional offer from the dealer.

I can relate. Although I don't detail for a living, when I was working at my dad's automotive shop in high school and college earning a little extra money, I use to see the car wholesalers next door bring in some vehicles that I wouldn't spend $100.00 on. After they got through working their magic, the car looked like an almost new vehicle. I was always amazed at how new they could make the engine look, even though the car looked literally trashed when it came in. That's why I've been sometimes skeptical of used cars off a lot. It may look great on the surface, but you never know for sure what it originally looked like or how it was treated. A private party purchase from an original owner is usually a pretty good indication of the care and upkeep the car had.:D
