A word of warning . . .

norahcrv

I wish . . .
for all you M/F users . . I now see "Tide Detergent w/ Downy Fabric Softener" on the shelves at the grocery stores here in AZ.

Be sure that you do NOT use this for your M/F's.

What does the softner actually do to the MF's? Leave behind something abrasive, break down the effectiveness of the MF, etc..?

The softner clogs up the fibers of the cloth making it less absorbant and not as soft. Ironic, isn't it?

Fabric softener is not good to use with any towels, including MF, that will be used on paint. It is my understanding that it leaves a residue that makes towels streak and less absorbent.

OK - Perhaps I should have phrased that differently . .

How's this: "A Word of Warning for All Tide Users"?

I too, use only Woolite or MicroRestore for all my M/F's, but I'm sure that thre are some out there who use whatever laundry detergent is handy.

I just wanted them to be aware, that Tide has started putting Downy in their detergent. I don't know about the other maufacturers, but I wouldn't be surprised to see them follow suit!!
