Been relatively busy and just had a bunch of time to post these details. I picked a chose these over the past two weeks...

First up is my G35. I got to my client's location early (before he was home from work) and was able to quickly dress the wells and tires again. The lighting was pretty good and the backdrop was relatively simple. For about 3 months now, my car wears:

-Klasse AIO (pre-VOC)

-Zaino Z5 Pro x 3

-Zaino Z2 Pro x 2

-Weekly touch-ups with Z8 and Z16 after a Z7 wash

Next, a picture of my products. Same day as above, I was early, so I placed the bottles out. I bring just about the same line-up for each detail. If you have any question in regards to "what is what", just ask...

Next up, a 1996 Toyota Tacoma.

The owner of this and the Highlander is VERY VERY meticulous. He is the second owner and did all of the mods to this beaut. The truck had only very minor swirling and the interior was cake (no pics). There were some R.I.D.S which I took a stab at and reduced most of them. All in all, a fun truck to work on. My finals were:

-Dawn Wash

-Zaino Z18 Clay with Dawn Wash as lube

-P21s Wheel Cleaner for wheels

-TOL Tire Cleaner cut 50/50 for tires/wells

-Optimum Car Polish via rotary and LC Cutting Pad @ 1400 rpm

-Menzerna FPII via rotary and LC Finishing Pad @ 1500 rpm

-Zaino Z6 wipedown

-Zaino Z2 Pro by hand on paint, wheels, glass

-Zaino Z16 on tires/wells

-Zaino Z8 final wipedown

Next up, a 2005 Highlander.

Same owner as Tacoma. This truck belonged to his wife and was caked in grime. The lower panels took a lot of time to get clean and I spent some extra time polishing out his clearbra which was discolored. My finals were:

-Dawn Wash

-Zaino Z18 Clay with Dawn Wash as lube

-P21s Wheel Cleaner for wheels

-TOL Tire Cleaner cut 50/50 for tires/wells

-WD40 and Lacquer Thinner for lower panels, followed by Dawn Wash

-Optimum Car Polish via rotary and LC Finishing Pad @ 1200 rpm

-Zaino Z14 via rotary and LC Finishing Pad @ 1200 rpm for lighting and clear bra (x 3 for bra)

-Zaino Z6 wipedown

-Zaino Z2 Pro by hand on paint, wheels, glass

-Zaino Z16 on tires/wells

-Zaino Z8 final wipedown

Next two belong to-two enthusiasts, both members here too :).

This Mustang was in rather nice shape. The hood/fenders needed some work, but the owner had polished the rest of the car out with IP/FPII on the PC about 6 months ago. My finals were:

-P21s Wheel Cleaner for wheels

-TOL Tire Cleaner cut 50/50 for tires/wells

-Hi-Temp Extreme Cut/Optimum Car Polish via rotary and LC Cutting Pad @ 1700 rpm

Next up, 2005 Xterra (nice truck!)

This one was in gorgeous shape. It truly shows how both him and the Mustang owner are enthusiasts. Since it was soo clean, I was able to spend some extra time on the finer items. I was extremely pleased with the results, as was the owner. My finals were:

-Dawn Wash

-Zaino Z18 Clay with Dawn Wash as lube

-P21s Wheel Cleaner for wheels

-TOL Tire Cleaner cut 50/50 for tires/wells

-Hi-Temp Extreme Cut/Optimum Car Polish via rotary and LC Cutting Pad @ 1700 rpm for light scratches (spot buff)

-Zaino ZPC via rotary and Meguiar's Polishing Pad @ 1200 rpm (x 2 on hood)

-Zaino Z6 wipedown

-Zaino Z2 Pro by hand on paint, wheels, glass

-Zaino Z16 on tires/wells

-Zaino Z8 final wipedown

Last up is a disastrous CRV.

I work closely with the local Mobil 1 Service Station Owner. He sends me a ton of business and usually has a car for me to do whenever I ask. This time he put me in contact with the owner of this CRV. The owner told me the interior was "pretty dirty". He eluded to how some sodas had exploded in his trunk. IMO, he had bigger problems.

With the interior being the focal area, I spent almost 3 hours cleaning it. The exterior was not of a ton of interest, so I did a quick clean-up. My finals on the interior were:

-Vacuum

-Pressure wash mats, soak in Oxi-Clean, rinse rinse rinse, air dry

-Oxi/IPA mix for entire interior (I needed to refilll about 4 times (about 6 gallons)

-Dawn wash mixture for the jams

-Extract

-Stoner's IG for glass and clear plastic

-Zaino Z16 to dress

Ughh, wish I brough my HAZMAT suit for the last one.

That's all for now :).

Questions/Comments/Advice, please feel free.

Cheers!

All of them look great. Awesome turn around on the CRV, and the Tacoma looks really wet. Your G looks immaculate as well. Sweet work.

All of them look great!!

That CRV just takes the cake. How do people drive around like that?

No steamer use on the CRV? I don't think I could have detailed that filth without a steamer. IPA/OXI, that is interesting, I guess it works really well on the plastic/vinyl?

Joe: Sorry, I steamed the carpets and seats after the Oxi/IPA mix.

I find that Oxi-Clean leaves a film on the surfaces used on. The IPA (imo) helps neutralize this and kill any bacteria/odor. For about 2 scoops and 2 gallons of water, I use about 2 ounces of IPA...not a lot, you can barely even detect it by scent.

That was quite a week, Sean. Nice turnaround on all the vehicles. Am so glad that I have DSL or I would have missed this post. You are an interior master. I guess that I am not a detailer because I would never do interiors as bad as the worst one that you posted. In fact, when I do interiors I charge the same for the inside as I do for the outside. Cuts my client base but get paid really well when I do end up doing interiors.

That CRV looks like my girlfriends Camery i did this weekend. Except it was my first detail ever and spent 7 hours on the interior (removed seats ect....) They all look amazing.

For the carpets, did you use the LGCM and the process you outlined in your how-to post?

cw: I definatley did not have fun with the CRV, but I was very pleased with the outcome. I rinsed those matts for at least 5 minutes a piece. It looked like I was rinsing motor oil out...gross.

Mach: I more or less did it like my how-to post. For extracting, I just misted the surfaces down with a water mixed with a touch of IPA, then sucked out with the shop vac. It more or less, did the same thing.
