A waxing question

Hi I just bought a new (2005)Mazda Tribute that is a Dark Teal Metallic color. I have always detaled my cars vacumed, washed, waxed the usuall stuff. However now I would like to expand my knowledge and increase the apperance of my car. I had basic knowledge of detailing(washing was good for the paint and wax protected it). First I'll start with the interior I purchsaed some sonus leather cleaner and conditioner, stoner invisible glass cleaner, sonus cockpit detailer, sonus SFX professional applicator, sonus ultimate detailing towels. I also bought sonus gloss shampoo for the outside but haven't decided what else I should get. I was planning on getting Klasse All-In-One, Klasse high gloss sealant glaze car wax. I was wondering if I could use P21S Carnauba Wax on top of the Klasse high gloss sealant or only on top of the All-in-one. Also I have read that you should only use the Klasse products 4 times a year. If this is true could you use the P21S for in between waxes. Any tips or thoughts would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

mwe

Yes, you may apply a carnauba wax on top of AIO or KSG. Make sure you have all the layers of KSG on that you want since once you apply a wax, KSG will not bond to it. Plenty of good carnaubas out there... #16, #26, S100, P21S, Souveran, Nattys, FK Pink. Most Harley Davidson shops will have S100 and #26 can be found OTC at some auto parts and auto paint shops.

I use the Klasse twins on my Mazda MPV and I quit putting wax over top the KSG. It did improve the look a little, but not enough to sacrifice the ability to add more KSG as needed.

Many people find the KSG tricky to use. I don't, but IMO enough people do that I'd steer you towards something different. As you're just starting out with this stuff, I'd use a user-friendly approach that'll still look good and last a long time.

I'd use the Klasse AIO, but I'd put Collinite 845 Insulator Wax over top of it. It looks good, lasts a long time, beads like crazy, and is easy to use. My niece-in-law (who sure doesn't care about detailing ;) ) loves the stuff. A bottle of it will last a long, long time.

If your local AutoZone/Advance Auto doesn't have it, you can order it direct from COLLINTE
