What kind of show is this without a single pic???? A shameless 1 ticket entry for the Big Kahuna $320 Grand, that's what. (I did read that right, didn't I? 320 Grand?) :w00t: Already bought some goodies from PAC before the Big Kahuna popped up and I don't have the time to post much.
Dear ol' Dad calls me last week to tell me about scarfing up the last '09 Honda Accord off the dealer's lot. Somewhere along the way he tells me he's getting a $400 Paint Protection package!
So I sent him a ton of links from various Forums and told him why he didn't want to do that. He got his 400 clams refunded and agreed to bring the new barge by for the treatment. I told him to tell 'em not to do ANYTHING to the car.... don't even wash it!
Nice thing about new cars that the dealer hasn't had the opportunity to do the Dealer Installed Swirl Option on is it's a lot less work. Under the halogens and Brinkmann the only marks I could find on the silver metallic finish were light rub marks on the front fenders, most likely from some lackey leaning over to clean the windshield or somethin'.
Washed with CGWG, clayed with Riccardo yellow using ONR lube at QD strength. The vertical surfaces had little to no contaminents but the horizontal surfaces had the typical new-car crud from transport and sitting around a lot.
With no correction needed to speak of I elected to go with KAIO on a 6.5" white CCS LC pad. The larger surfaces got the Flex treatment and the smaller areas got the 7424 with 4" LC pads. Topped with 845IW using blue CCS and removed by hand with plush Cobra Deluxe MF. The windows got Stoner's IG with Rain X on the outside. KAIO in the door jambs and hood and trunk shuts. Wheel wells got a blast of No Touch foam, tires got Stoner's More Shine and the wheel covers got KAIO topped with Collinite 915 for durabilty. Exterior trim received 303 Protectant or Black WOW depending on it's texture and material. Door seals got a dose of 303 and the interior plastic received PB's Natural Look.
Under the hood is a pleasure on a new ride. A light wipe down and a blast of CD2 Engine Detailer and wipedown for a clean, matte finish that lasts. All painted surfaces received a massaging of KAIO.
The KAIO/845 combo really popped out the metal flake. Dad was amazed how much more luster the car had... he was only expecting a quickie wax job for protection. The guy oughta know better, he's as obsessive-compulsive as I am.
I was extremely impressed with the quality of the fit and finish on the new Hondas. I found 1 miniscule dust spec in the finish in an unnoticeable place. One doesn't expect perfection from anything mass-produced but this thing was close!
So there's a 1-ticket entry. Hey, it only takes one to screw Luster out of winning!
