a question to the professionals

Hi all.

Here in Cyprus the "professional" detailer are using something for car protection that they call it "Teflon".They said that it protects the paint from scratches,bird droppings etc etc.Does anyone know something about this product?
 
"Professionals" do not use Teflon, at least the ones I know do not. If they do then I would avoid them as much possible. There are several post about this. It's just a marketing gimmick. Dealerships love to upsell car buyers with this product.
 
I saw a black car that was covered by teflon and it was full of scratches and swirls marks.i wasn't sure if that was just bad work made by the ""professional"" (as he like to call his self :) ),or if teflon is just a myth
 
All nasa technology means is that some pr guy for a company drank the product in front of a upper official of nasa and got the contract :lol
 
hi guys we have it over here in new zealand , i think its a bunch of bull, they usually have a sticker on the window that says only wash car with water or it will void the warranty, now we all know that if you have a really dirty muddy car washing it with just water isnt going to clean it,if they wont let me wash there car with a good quality car wash i just say to them they had better clean the car themselves, i mean cars today already come with a clear coat over the paint so why would you want to put another coat over that ???
 
I was told by some professionals in the industry that any detail product claiming to contain "Teflon" is false. DuPont has never officially licensed the use of Teflon in any detail applications. The only reason you see it around so much is because there are so many companies claiming to use Teflon that their lawyers are too busy to prosecute every single one.

Swissvax Shield contains PTFE, the chemical name for Teflon, but notice the name "Teflon" isn't anywhere on their site because it is trademarked to DuPont only.
 
Try Dupont Teflon Quick Detailer on windows with a good microfiber cloth. It rocks. I've also had some success with it on some motorcycle applications. I just never use it for which it was intended.
 
Teflon does work. It just needs to be baked at 300 plus degrees.



Directions:

You Need to remove

1. Moldings

2. all electrical wires and computers

3. windshield ( glue will get hot and winshild will fallout) Do not skip this step or warranty will be void.

4. All tires

5. Gas tank



6.Make sure just the empty Metal painted shell is prepped and Teflon is applied.

Move into baking oven for 30 minutes at 350 plus and pray to god it works.



7.Install parts back to proper position.



Fineprint: Teflon is a registered trademark under Dupont name only. If proper allignment is needed for parts not fitting, consult a mechanic and a mental institute cause you have problems.



Dupont has no resposability for this Teflon cause it is not the real deal anyway.
