A problem with my PC technique

I used my new 7336 today for the first time. I started using SSR2.5 with an LC 6.5" orange pad. After doing about half of my 2000 black Sierra I noticed the pad was coming apart around the circumfrence of the velcro backing. I finished the rest with my other orange pad and the same thing happened. Then I used a white pad with SSR1 and it started happening again but not as bad but it was producing alot of small pieces of the itself comong off. I would start the PC at about 4-4.5 working the product in then turn it up to 6 to finish. I am pleased with the results but I assume I am doing something incorrect. I would really appreciate some help or tips please.

Sounds like you are putting too much pressure on the machine/pad, but hard to tell without seeing you use it.

What size is your backing plate?

All my LC pads (orange and white) did the same thing.I use a 5" flex plate and never use all that much pressure. The orange pad started cracking around the velcro after the first use.

I like the paper plate idea, wish I new about it before.

I have never had a problem with using the advanced lc pads, though, I have had that problem using the regular lc ones(the flat pads).
