Just recently purchaced myself an R33 Nissan Skyline GtS-T Type M:D As you can see from the pics the paint looks a bit foggy and in need of attention being 10 years old I'm not surprised.

Can anybody point me in the right direction for getting the paint back to the best possible i.e products, tecniques and stuff.

Was thinking Megs stage 1 and 2 then Megs gold class wax.

Would also like some help with cleaning the engine bay, again same sort of advice please.

first of all that car is ******* SICK!... as for cleaning the car.. what u said about megs sounds good and will make it look a lot better... but honestly i would give that car what it deserves (wash, clay, wash, 1z pp, 1z mp, klasse aio, klasse sg x3, p21s).. but i love skylines, so maybe im going overboard... but make sure u clay that car, since u said its over 10 years old, and it seems like the paint was some what negelected... as for the engine... ive used many different things with good results, such as orange power degreaser, meguiars apc, 303 all purpose cleaner.. i know some of those are iffy as for safety on engine stuff (vinyl, rubber)... they say u can wash fruit with the 303 cleaner (diluted), so maybe u should try that... hope this helps...

oh yeah... for technique, just click on the link @ the top of the website: the learn icon... lots of info that'll help

congradu-friggin-lations!!! what a gorgeous car. my favorite skyline has always been the R-33. the r-34's are `beautiful, but more "edgy" than i like.

this is the RWD model, correct? make sure you protect the paint before wasting the tires on your rear body panels!!!

and like previously said, clay is your friend.

Such a sexy car. I would kill for an R33 GTR, though an R34 GTR would be nice too. Keep her clean and modded. :) I gotta agree with NavindraLR, give her the proper treatment. Keep us posted with pics.

I don't think Navindra is going overboard at all especially given the attention the car needs. Need for a rotary might not be out of the question and if you choose the 1z polishes you'll very likely need all three: Ultra, Paint and Metallic polish

Navindra > Thanks. I want to give the car the best treatment possible, sounds like a lot of products will be getting bought:eek: I'll look into getting them.

Mongoose > Yep GtS-T was RWD with 250bhp RB25DET engine:bow

Looking forward to detailling the Skyline, at the mo' its on a boat from Japan, just getting prepared just now:cool: had a white Accord before and had the best shine on the planet on it hoping to emulate or get it even better with the Skyline :shocked
